Board the “Spiritof Agnes” from the shores of Mosaic for a boat cruise on Hermanus Lagoon among a myriad of water birds. You will explore either a bird sanctuary on the east end of the lagoon, or the mouth where it opens to the Atlantic Ocean at Grotto Beach in Hermanus. The lagoon is home to a host of birds including the Blue Crane (the national bird), Flamingo, African Fish Eagle, Red Knobbed Coot, Yellow Billed Duck and a variety of cormorants and geese.
The magnificent Overberg Mountains tower over the lagoon and seem close enough to touch as you cruise. Waterfalls run down the mountains. Occasionally you can watch adrenalin enthusiasts para-sailing against the backdrop. You can walk on the beach at the lagoon mouth and, providing you are a competent swimmer, you can take a plunge. The water is refreshing in the summer; cold water in the winter! The sunsets reflecting over the water are absolutely stunning, a reflection of your relaxing day.
