Hermanus and Walker Bay are known as the best place in the world to do land-based whale-watching. Between June and December, Southern Right Whales from Antarctica migrate to our sheltered bays to court, mate and calf. They can seen as close as 20 meters from the shore, breaching, spraying, lobtailing. Our guests’ favorite place for peaceful, private viewing is on our 4×4 beach excursion to the top of sand dunes at a secluded part of Walker Bay Beach.
